TERRY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Town of Terry unveiled its Crime Prevention Surveillance Center on Tuesday, July 16.
Powered by solar energy, officials will be able to view a live feed of what’s happening in the town.
“And guys, it’s a great system. I mean, if you ride through Terry at nighttime, first thing you’re going to see when you come out is that flashing light. And believe me, it attracts attention. The bad guys don’t want to see that,” said Terry Police Chief Anthony Moore.
Terry has seen its share of crime, and officials said the new cameras send a strong message to criminals. Residents said the added security measure brings them a sense of comfort.
Moore hopes to add more cameras along with license plate readers.
